How to Be a Good Wife Digital Cartoon

This cartoon zooms in on a popular theme of mine – feminism and the patriarchal roots of the Christian religion (and most religions and cultures for that matter). I like to illustrate this fact in my art in the hope of exposing the problem with it. 

Many religions preach that men have authority over women. In many faiths women have little to no rights or are taught to be subservient to men. Sometimes they are put into arranged marriages or told whom they can and can’t marry because of, you guessed it, religion and tradition. There are also double-standards for men and women (a long story for another day).  All of this in the name of God. Because of course men would say God told them so.
